For cea‘s 25th birthday, and the USA-England match in the World Cup, we made a thematic cake. I know the fruit’s pretty and all, but it’s the cake inside that’s the real treat. I don’t have much to say about it, except that I found the recipe here and I’m really starting to love this blog! As he says, the cake really doesn’t need frosting at all (and it’s coming from me…a girl who LOVES frosting), but we topped it with a bit of marscapone mixed with a little powdered sugar in order to get a white topping. If you want to frost it, this was perfect, just don’t over-sweeten it. I will definitely be making this cake again, and hopefully soon!
